Like adolescents, the Left wears us down with their insane, unreasonable and incessant demands to the point where most of us, exhausted, yield rather than challenge. Over time, that which is abnormal, bizarre and destructive becomes the new normal until such time, if ever, desperation on the part of those of us who yielded sparks upheavel and terrible retribution.

Justice Always In Doubt in DC

That "devastating" Comey Report appears not to have been at all devastating to Comey. According to Horowitz, insufferably morally superior Comey violated his Employment Agreement and bureau policy, but nothing prosecutable. How nice. Well, there's always the feloniously executed FISA warrants. Surely that's a slam dunk prosecutable violation. No, Mr. Barr.

My question: doesn't his having violated his Employment Agreement impact his claim to a handsome government pension. Or is this seriously ethically challenged hack entitled to a fat taxpayer funded pension? Just asking.

In any event, I've got to believe that the real devastation to Comey and his co-conspirators is only a matter of time.

Deep State Still Defying the President

Well, now we know why Dan Coats was forced to resign as Dir. of National Intelligence. He was blocking Trump's directive issued months ago to release declassified information related to the illegal eavesdropping of Trump by Obama, CIA, FBI & DOJ. However, and not surprisingly, the stonewalling in that deep state-infested agency brazenly continues, which is also why a house-cleaning of that agency is underway. Don't tell me the Deep State, aka Shadow Government, doesn't exercise extraordinary power, immunity and privilege, a disturbing reality which, at some point soon, must be aggressively dealt with if we are to enjoy at least the semblance of a constitutional republic.

Joe Biden said that the U.S. Constitution does not allow “anyone” to own a weapon and does not give citizens the right to buy “any kind of weapon” they want because every amendment has limitations.

Wow! Nothing like a cogent analysis of the 2nd Amendment, huh? Obviously, another modern law school grad and political opportunist.

Joe, neither does the 2nd Amendment say no one may own a gun or that some persons may be denied a gun by the federal government. And, of course, the Amendment makes no mention of a limitation on the right to bear arms. Show me where it says that!

Furthermore, a reasonable person must conclude--and our founders completely understood this--that nowhere in the Constitution are the People denied the right to arm themselves in a manner consistent with their ability to successfully thwart either foreign invasions OR federal tyranny. Thus, the amendment does not limit persons to muskets and swords when the enemy, whether foreign or domestic, is armed with tanks, planes and other modern weapons of war. That's just plain ol' common sense, something with which our founders were richly endowed.

One last thing: neither the Congress, the Executive Branch nor the Supreme Court is empowered by the Constitution to unilaterally re-write the Constitution by judicial fiat, executive order or legislation. And that includes the 2nd Amendment. PERIOD

Want to change the meaning of the 2nd Amendment without precipitating a showdown with the People? Then you, Joe, and your fellow totalitarian Progressives must invoke Article V to properly amend the Constitution. The federal government's arbitrarily altering the original meaning and clear intent of the 2nd Amendment will be just cause for the People to act upon their inherent God-given right and duty to defend themselves from such federal tyranny. Keep that in mind, Joe.

A LITTLE DOSE OF REALTY FOR DEMOCRATS & PATRIOTS

During an embarrassingly Demonrat-dominated House "committee hearing", Homeland Security's Tom Hohman fearlessly and candidly confronted and exposed the Progressive interrogators for the deceitful, self-consumed childish monsters they really are.

To ALL sentient Americans, these Progressive, aka neo-Marxist, subversives have ZERO credibility, integrity, commonsense or standards of decency. With Hohman's courageously no-nonsense rebuttals to a litany of scurrilous and undignified attacks on him and border patrol, there is still a sliver of hope for the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. There still are capable, fearless and honorable public servants. Not many, but some.

Who were these Demonrat-anointed interrogators who attacked the integrity of Tom Hohman? The most fervent and disgusting subversives on the Hill, those being AOC, Rashida Tlaib and that intellectually challenged dipstick from the People's Socialist Republic of Massachusetts, one Ayanna Pressley, a totally forgettable fool were it not for her mindlessly puerile antics as a congresswoman. But, leave us not forget their ruthless, rabidly anti-American and pro-Palestinian cohort, Ilan Omar. And, of course, they shared their sideshow antics with other nitwit race-baiting anti-Americans Demonrats as well. You'd have to have seen it to believe it.

The fact that Homan didn't walk out on these persnickety, adolescent and insultingly callous and one-dimensional interrogators speaks to Hohman's herculean patience, his steadiness, authoritativeness, his integrity, and his fearless commitment to speaking the unvarnished truth and, thereby, exposing these arrogant, narcissistic Progressive interrogators for the lawless, subversive frauds they really are.

So, when--if ever--will the robotic Demonrat supporters of these Progressive vermin see the truth; when will they wake up to reality? Are they capable of waking up to reality? For their own good, unwitting Demonrat supporters must understand that the Democratic Party of 1962 is totally D-E-A-D, and has been for some time. Thus, being born a Democrat no longer has any currency, any meaning whatsoever. The once venerable Democrat Party, of which I was once a member, is now an unmitigated farce, an alien front, a ruse, a sting, an alien cancer. It no longer represents classic liberals or Democrats. It most certainly doesn't represent time-tested American values and traditions. The modern Democrat Party has reduced itself to an alien horde of self-serving subversives with zero interest in the lessons of history, We the People or the Republic.

Unfortunately, for too many Americans today rote, irrational party loyalty has eclipsed the importance of TRUTH, Rule of Law, the Constitution, the Republic, their fellow US Citizens, and, of course, Justice and Decency itself? Such a horrible derangement can only lead to the Party's self-destruction--and the sooner the better for everyone. I have long ago given up any realistic hope that the modern Democrat Party can return to its JFK roots. The problem is that most modern Democrat Party disciples and followers probably have no idea they've signed on to an alien ideology which no longer represents their best interests or the interests of their own family or country--which, of course, underscores just how insidious and terribly effective the seditious Progressive Movement and its relentless propaganda campaign has been.

The only advice I can offer to fellow patriots is this: spurn any inkling to go-along-to-get along, appropriately and firmly RESIST, remain organized and alert to the dangers which beset us, and STOP any further Leftist attempt to dismantle or otherwise destroy the most dynamic, economically and politically successful form of government the world has ever known. And always remember that we are still but a noble experiment, whose ultimate success depends upon us. Undeniably and unquestionably, and from a strictly historical standpoint, this republic, for all its warts and pimples, is, in fact, EXCEPTIONAL. But we are only exceptional until we no longer understand or appreciate just how exceptional America really is. Whether or not this noble experiment in government prevails rests entirely upon our willingness and readiness to see it through to fruition and to selflessly defend it. If it's not broken, in the name of God we must not foolishly permit its mindless dismantling or destruction? So, while they are still available, READ YOUR AMERICAN HISTORY BOOKS and our founding documents--and not just those revisionist history books which are intended to obfuscate, propagandize, misinform, misrepresent or advance ideological or political agendas. Such an honest effort to discern our real history, the good, bad and ugly, is a JOB, but tackling that challenge is our founder-directed duty.Without such an effort, our experiment is destined for failure.

Shedding Light on the Convention of States, a Cult or a Remedy

Over considerable time, I have scoured the internet for helpful and scholarly information regarding the Art V Convention of States (COS) movement, it's strengths and weaknesses. Importantly, such a convention is a lot more complex and challenging than most us fully understand. After my lengthy research effort, I am sharing with you this youtube presentation by the John Birch Society with the hope that the viewer will temporarily jettison his bias and commit to carefully listening, learning and weighing--to think outside any rigidly pre-conceived viewpoints on the subject. This video presentation is the best of its kind I've seen: it is straightforward, cogent, scholarly, and refreshingly understandable. Extremely important to view and listen. Having consulted a number of other sober and respectable Constitutional sources, I have carefully concluded that the COS Project, though in most cases very well-intentioned, is flawed, misguided and, yes, perilous. And though a hardened COS true believer may opt to merely ridicule this excellent presentation, such dismissiveness will serve no constructive purpose at all. The facts speak for themselves. Note: Desperate for remedies, I too was a COS supporter at the beginning, that is until my curiosity got the best of me, at which point I stepped outside the box to conduct my own exploration. So, permit this video to be the first step in your own unbiased exploration. By the way, and as I have frequently maintained, solutions to our constitutional problems today are entirely in OUR hands, and, fortunately, the Constitution already provides us the tools to restore constitutional order. As the video nicely validated, we must rely upon Art VI Clause 2 and 3, and our State leaders must, with our encouragement and insistence, exert their 10th Amendment authority to nullify ALL unconstitutional federal laws/rulings/regulations/directives. In short, if we and our States but insist that our federal representatives faithfully adhere to their Oath of Office, constitutional order and, yes, sanity, could be quickly restored. Nullification, Secession or Rebellion?

REFLECTION. In truth, constitutional order throughout the land can be fully restored IF IF IF the routinely cowed states would simply assert their 10th Amendment authority to NULLIFY unconstitutional fed laws, judicial opinions, bureaucratic regulations and Executive orders, this in accordance with the foundational principle of "dual state-federal sovereignty", Art VI Cl 2, and Madison's and Jefferson's Kentucky & Virginia Resolutions of 1798.

Routine and ruinous unconstitutional actions on the part of the feds have been painfully--and unpardonably--plentiful and virtually unopposed. They have become so commonplace as to have become tolerable and often unnoticed. IF, as has been the case for a century or more, States fail in their 10th Amendment duty to nullify/interpose, then the only recourse is secession or rebellion. And since State governments have been so completely subservient to the federal Leviathan, only a mobilized and incensed State citizenry can compel their respective legislatures to appropriately act in the citizens' defense. And if legislatures continue to fail to resist federal overreach, which is likely, then it is the duty of the People in those States to compel such legislative resistance. (Note: despite what the revisionists and propagandists have asserted over the years, secession and rebellion are not one and the same. Secession is lawful and intentionally peaceful, and recognizes a State's authority to withdraw from this voluntary union of States. Only if a State (or States) is forcibly denied its residual right to secede, then as independent nations it is duty-bound to defend its sovereignty. A simple matter of defense v rebellion. And, of course, to garner domestic support for its lawless & reckless action, the federal tyrant will label that defensive war as rebellion. Thus, Lincoln's cynical and errant "rebel" epithet hurdled against the Confederate States of America.)

The short of it is that Nullification is sooooooo much simpler. But, alas, until a State understands its duty to assert its legitimate authority in this regard and is willing to act accordingly, it may retreat ti grovelling until the federal usurpation becomes so injurious or oppressive as to compel the State to withdraw. But, to be clear, secession should be tried only if nullification fails or is otherwise impossible to pull off. In any event, in the face of overreach and/or tyranny both secession and rebellion are perfectly legitimate remedies.

My understanding is that the founders implied a logical series of resistance steps: civil disobedience, State Nullification/Interposition, rebellion OR secession. My lingering question remains: at what point will Texas--and every other red or purple State-- properly and aggressively NULLIFY unconstitutional federal actions, without which there can be no constitutional order or Rule of Law?!?!? Ignorance of their constitutional authority? Or, what is more likely, their menial acceptance of their vassalage and their fear of losing federal handouts?

War Powers Resolution Revisited

Re Iran, N. Korea and other potential hotspots worldwide, interest in the WAR POWERS ACT (1973) is front and center yet again. To get a better handle on the subject, I checked out the Congressional Research Services, upon which Congress heavily relies when divining WPA meaning and both presidential and congressional authority in that regard, as well as the analyses of WPA by both the American Bar Association and the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Distilling all that legalese into a sensible summary was challenging, but in the most abbreviated form possible, here it is:

1. WPA, or War Powers Resolution, requires the "collective judgement" of both the President and Congress before the President may commit military force, except when "repelling a sudden attack" upon the USA itself.

2. The President must "consult" with Congress before committing armed forces into existing or "imminent hostilities".

3. RE the "legislative veto", unless Congress approves continued deployment of military forces, US forces must be withdrawn from hostilities within 60 days of deployment, except if Congress is unable to act owing to an armed attack on the USA itself.

4. As to preemptive attacks by the USA on states or other entities that constitute a WMD or otherwise imminent threat to the homeland, such preventive or preemptive attacks appear to be a legitimate exercise of Presidential authority--unless Congress specifically prohibits such action, something not likely since preemptive attacks occasioned by imminent threats to the homeland will have already taken place, this owing to the emergent character of those situations.

Since the CRS analysis both cites and explains the constitutional bases for US deployments all the way back to the Korean War, and since it mercifully avoided the murky ambiguity of lawyerly explication and pedantry, CRS was the best and clearest summary. And, again, it is the CRS analysis upon which both Congress and the President traditionally rely for guidance.

Demonrat Political Goals & America's Future

Folks, the Demonrat leadership isn't kidding. And, sadly, most loyal Demonrat voters are clueless as to their leadership's nefarious intentions. The Demonrat Party absolutely wants open borders for two reasons: 1) to advance its suicidal and ephemeral globalist, borderless dream of centralized world government where sovereign nations no longer exist and, of course, the elites of the world are in charge; 2) their party-first goal to enhance the number of future Demonrat/globalist-leaning voters to ensure that #1 is achieved.

There is absolutely NOTHING lofty or rational about either ambition. They are both alien to American beliefs and subversive of American values and traditions.

History teaches that such soft-headed short-sightedness and ignorance of Natural Law always lead to painful social upheaval, terrible economic hardship and dictatorship. And, thus, the historical cycle continues.

Tonight, I periodically tuned into the Dimwit Debacle, aka Debate, and am no less alarmed by the inanity, myopia, dishonesty, hypocrisy, adolescence and penchant for VERY BIG government shamelessly and embarrassingly displayed by every single candidate on that stage of fools. (Rome's promises of bread-and-circuses came immediately to mind: promise anything and everything, no matter how inane or un-doable, so long as my place in the Sun is assured.)

The only useful thing that would happen were the Demonrats to take over in 2020 is the desperate and widespread secession movement which would surely ensue among the red and purple States--and, of course, the dissolution of what is now an essentially dysfunctional union anyway.

Unless We the People magically experience an epiphany and return to constitutional order, common sense, public integrity and public virtue, the union is unquestionably on life support. My humble take: a Demonrat takeover in DC would merely hasten a much-needed political divorce among the already deeply ideologically divided States. To my way of thinking, whatever serves to restore constitutional order and Liberty is fine by me. If we can't accomplish that worthy goal on a national level, then accomplishing it on a State or regional level is perfectly sane and sensible. Bottom line: Liberty must be preserved, whatever the cost. Let our Founders be our guide.

SCOTUS Opines on Citizenship Question

SCOTUS has opined that 1) federal judges have no constitutional authority in gerrymandering cases, and that 2) on the issue of including the citizenship question in the 2020 census, further explanation is needed from the Commerce Dept. to justify such an insertion before the court can render a decision.

On the latter, I am flummoxed. The only thing that comes to mind is that the Administration sloppily prepared its argument. The point is that our founders never envisioned that elected representatives would be apportioned according to the number of "inhabitants", but upon the number of voting citizens, the latter upon whom Hamilton asserted the republic must rely. 

Simply put, when it comes to electing our representatives, we don't rely upon the loyalty and faithfulness to the Constitution of non-citizens. That would be reckless and irrational. Permitting non-citizens to be calculated in this representation formula would be subversive of our founding principles. That said, common sense dictates that ALL inhabitants should be counted so we may properly know who lives here and in what status, legal or otherwise, they may be. Let's hope that this time the Commerce Dept consults some scholarly constitutional experts when preparing its case. Sadly, of course, that's no guarantee that a majority of SCOTUS justices will be swayed by any well-developed, strict interpretations of the Constitution on ANY matter coming before it. We have long ago come to terms with that painful reality.

MEXICO IS A NARCO STATE

MEXICO IS A NARCO STATE. No way to credibly deny this anymore.

Reports indicate that 80% of the country's 266 districts are either fully (60%) controlled by cartels or disputed (20%). (Disputed? Sure.) Many key politicians, soldiers and policemen at every level of government are on the take. Many act as spies and foot soldiers for the wealthy and powerful cartels. Any wonder narco-dominated Mexico has been so lame in its enforcement of border security with the USA? And to make matters worse, US border patrol and nat'l guardsmen are, incredibly, prohibited from engaging cartel thugs and armed smugglers. Hell, we don't even fight back when our people are detained and disarmed by armed cartel soldiers--on OUR side of the border! This has clearly become more than an immigration issue. Much more. It's a situation every bit as toxic as an insurgency, terrorism, and invasion. (Earlier this year, a couple congressmen wrote to the President demanding that the cartels be designated terrorist organizations as defined in 18 USC 2331. No reaction so far.)

In this regard, Mexico is little better than other narco states in Latin America--AND Afghanistan as well where 50% (not 60%) of the country is controlled by Taliban terrorists. Note: we correctly dub the Taliban as terrorists. Why not the Mexican cartels who routinely violate our border, harass our border security guys, dump tons of drugs in our country, traffic kids and adults as human chattel, and, with impunity, inflict terrible suffering on those Mexicans who refuse to bow.

Time to take the kid gloves off. Mexico is hopelessly incapable of stemming the migrant tide or of controlling cartel lawlessness and incursions into the US. Our rules of engagement must be reviewed with an eye to conforming to border realities. We should understand that our southern border areas are under siege by cartel terrorists and that thousands of Americans are dying as a result. Appropriately aggressive US action is needed--not just swashbuckling threats of tariffs and our absurd insistence that Mexico do a job they are totally unable to perform. In short, it will take more than mere walls to stop the stampede of illegals, criminal incursions, and illegal smuggling. I refer the President to Art IV Sec 4 of the Constitution.

Local Evidence of Public School Brainwashing

To illustrate the terrible extent of censorship and indoctrination routinely perpetrated in our gov't-run public schools, a friend who is subbing in the local school district sent me this photo. Posted in a classroom--and for the students' edification of course--it lists all news outlets. Conspicuously missing is FOX. What censorship? What brainwashing? Disturbingly, Leftist PC and political bias clearly rule our so-called classrooms. What Lenin's useful idiots in our "education" system are doing to our youth & our republic is criminal. Where's the outcry, the protests? Parents still sleepwalking? Crickets...

Democrat Goal: If We Kill the Electoral College, We Kill the Republic

Regarding the National Popular Vote (NPV) project whose goal it is to circumvent and effectively nullify the electoral vote.

A subversive Demonrat effort, all that the NPV will produce is a first class Constitutional crisis.

Electoral votes cast in violation of the Framers' intent per Art I Sec 1 & the 14th Amendment are illegal and cannot be honored in the official electoral count. Congress' faithlessly honoring those improperly cast votes would most certainly lead to serious social division and tumult, perhaps even leading to secession among those States who followed the rules but came out holding the short end of the stick.

Typically, the adolescent me-first Demonrats seldom, if ever, consider the consequences of their actions and misconduct.

(PS: Judicial Watch reports that none other than George Soros contributed $1M to NPV--which pretty much indicates the less than honorable intentions of NPV.)

The "Ism" Blitzkrieg on America: Will it Wreck the Republic?

HEADS-UP. I can only hope that Mr. Trump has wisely forgotten this dangerously dumb idea. Continuing Obama's efforts to federalize the nation's police departments can only lead to irreversible federal tyranny.

The imposition of Nat'l IDs by 10/1/20, the foolish adoption of the 17th Amendment in 1913, the feds usurping State authority over gun control/regulation, the growing menace of globalism and other alien "isms" in both gov't and education, the brazen & relentless subversion of our republic by most of "our" self-serving representatives, the cancerous deep state lawlessness, the mindless and self-destructive budgetary profligacy, etc. are now entrenched realities. In short, it is now, and has been for some time, a full-on alien "ism" assault by the Left on the very foundations of our constitutional republic, our traditional values, public virtue, Rule of Law and free enterprise. And they are winning bigly!

Federalizing the nation's police forces would be the final nail in the coffin for local control over Justice and Law & Order. In truth, with all these furious and unrelenting ideological assaults on the foundational principle of dual federal-State authority and on both the sovereignty and preeminence of the individual citizen, our now barely recognizable constitutional republic has degenerated into the stuff of mythology. We now have what the framers warned us against: a "national" vs a "federal" government. If that doesn't scare you, it bloody well should! NOT AT ALL what the founders designed or envisioned.

Government C-O-N-T-R-O-L is the name of the game, folks, and inch by painful inch Leviathan and its corporate and media toadies are transforming this once vibrant republic into a dictatorial monstrosity of Orwellian proportions. We've been repeatedly warned and most of us, seduced by snake oil political marketeers who represent those toxic "isms", have continued to ignore those warnings. Uncensored history doesn't lie. The "isms" advocates do. Alien "isms" DON'T WORK and needlessly kill millions of innocents, something history has already taught us over and over again.

Will enough of us emerge from our somnambulance, apathy and disengagement long enough to both recognize and convincingly confront these challenges to our Liberty? Being more a realist than a Pollyanna, I have to say that I have serious doubts that a majority of Americans today are even aware of--or even care about--this insidious transformation.

History is clear. Such disengagement, ignorance and carelessness are a recipe for disunion, all manner of civil tumult and, yes, totalitarianism and enslavement for those who blindly yield to or otherwise accommodate these threats. Jefferson said it best, "Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other; if a nation expects to be ignorant and free...it expects what never was and never will be."

As the disaster we see unfolds, at some point soon I foresee the inescapable need for a well-organized "Operation Pitch Fork" march of millions on DC to demand the restoration of constitutional order, a political condition entirely irrelevant and of scant interest to most of our elected officials and to those who now rule the unelected federal bureaucracy--and us.

For the last 10+ years, whenever I visit DC it no longer excites my patriotism; the impressive gleaming buildings no longer inspire me or occasion a sense of awe. And that is truly disheartening. For me, it is now an alien shambles quite out of touch with our founding principles and nearly entirely disconnected from We the People, its creators. When I view the boulevards and august buildings of the capital, the Reichstag and the horrors that followed always come to mind. For me, and I suspect for our founders were they alive today, the DC luster has long ago faded. On the sunniest of days, I see foreboding darkness enveloping the capital, and sense real trepidation. It's a facade, behind which is hidden a millions-strong throng of essentially uninspired and, for the most part, luke-warm patriotic government employees eagerly awaiting the rich rewards of retirement. The concept of federal civil servants and representative elected officials has become an anachronism. Hidden too are the myriad conspiracies and subversive activities usually associated with a dictatorship, not a constitutional republic.

At some point, we either awaken to the terrible threats to our Liberty or accept our fate as obedient wards of Big Brother. The only other peaceful option is to break away and form our own constitutional republic(s). Remember we are free men and women, but only so long as we are willing to defend that freedom to our last breath.

IT'S UP TO US: We Must READ & Enforce the Constitution

Though I know for some of you my focus on the Constitution today has been a bit tedious, for our own good I feel hopelessly compelled to inflict that tedium upon you. Once we all better understand the basics, void of modern lawyerly spin and misinterpretation, I believe we will more clearly understand how far afield we've strayed from our foundational principles. Then, as legislative proposals or acts and judicial edicts are forthcoming, test the constitutionality of those acts and edicts against this chart. You can also photocopy Art I, Art II and Art III and do the same. This is really all you need to differentiate between that which is lawful and that which is not. The important thing is that we not stop at attacking the symptoms of our national sickness, but that we proceed to the cause itself which, in nearly all cases, stems from our ignorance of or deliberate faithlessness to our founding documents. So, here's the chart. Master this and you've completed Constitution 101 and probably 201 as well.. But, finally, read the Constitution!! Keep a pocket Constitution close at hand. (I carry 3, one in my car, one in my jacket, one in my briefcase.) The Constitution isn't rocket science, though lawyers, politicians and other obfuscators would want you to believe otherwise:

 Make Treaties, but only on objects authorized
by Constitution!

o weights & measures
o patents & copyrights
o money system (gold & silver)
o bankruptcy laws
o mail delivery & some road building
 Laws on naturalization & immigration
 Certain civil rights (in the Amendments)
 Make & enforce only a few criminal laws
 Federal courts for specific purposes only
 Miscellaneous “housekeeping”: census, etc.
 May borrow money & levy taxes, but only for
purposes authorized by Constitution!

2. God given Rights secured by federal gov’t:
 Life: military, pirates, traitors, secure borders
 Property rights: honest money, weights &
measures, patents & copyrights, bankruptcy law
 Limited & enumerated powers secure right to
be left alone!
 Fair trials in federal courts: Dt 1:16-17; Dt
19:15-20 & Mt18:16; Ex 18:13-26; don’t bear
false witness; 5th- 8th Amendments

The States or the People:

1. Retain all powers except those delegated exclusively
to fed gov’t or prohibited to the States by Art. I, § 10:
 Federalist Paper No. 45 (3rd para from end) by
James Madison, Father of our Constitution:

(“The powers delegated by the proposed
Constitution to the federal government are few
and defined. Those which are to remain in the
State governments are numerous and indefinite.
The former will be exercised principally on
external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and
foreign commerce … the powers reserved to the
several States will extend to all the objects which
… concern the lives, liberties, and properties of
the people, and the internal order …and prosperity
of the State.”)

 Tenth Amendment.

2. State gov’ts secure rights God demands that gov’ts
honor (e.g., fair trials) & protect us from those who
seek to deprive us of God given rights. E.g.,
 Life: prosecute murderers, ban abortion,
euthanasia, drunk driving; quarantines for
dangerous diseases, etc.
 Sanctity of our persons: prosecute rapists,
muggers, kidnappers, child molesters, etc.
 Property rights: prosecute robbers; punish
negligence, fraud, & breach of contract; courts
available for dispute resolution; etc.

The fed gov’t. & State gov’ts. have different spheres of operation. The fed govt. is “supreme” only in those few &
enumerated powers delegated exclusively to it. The States or the People retain supremacy in all other matters, whether expressed or implied. When the fed gov’t. usurps powers retained by the States or the People, it becomes unlawful & illegitimate, in which case Nullification is the “rightful remedy”.

Abortion and the Constitution

With a growing number of States FINALLY asserting their constitutional authority to regulate abortion, may we reasonably hope that the moribund founding principle of "dual federal-State sovereignty", a foundational principle wisely laid down by our Founders, is being resuscitated? For only then can our constitutional republic be restored to its former luster.

Though the slaughtering of innocents is odious and morally depraved, we need only to rely on the Constitution itself to win the argument. Of course, that relies upon folks' reading and understanding the Constitution. It also requires us and our respective States to render unacceptable and of no force any federal violations of State laws in that regard.

Would all States reject such murder? No. But, many would, and that's the sheer beauty of the 10th Amendment. One size doesn't fit all, and the founders well understood that. Thus, we needn't submit ourselves to exhaustingly emotional and infuriatingly illogical arguments over the issue. We simply leave the matter of abortion regulation with the individual States where it constitutionally belongs. Don't like your State's abortion laws, then re-locate to a State whose views mirror your own. Perfect and sensible founding solution.

Biden's Kick-Off a Bomb

While working out on a treadmill at the gym today, I watched pieces of Biden's kickoff rally in PA. Had little choice as there were no other news stations to watch. The guy next to me and I were quietly and knowingly shaking our heads in disbelief throughout Biden's hollow oration. The desperate question which haunted me was, are there any Demonrat candidates willing to tell the unvarnished truth to their devoted disciples? Do they have a cogent, substantive agenda? Apparently not. Wisely relying on a teleprompter, bumbling Biden repeated that "it's time to stop fighting and fix things" (Novel idea. Hello, Nadler and Nancy. Hello, Demonrats.) He celebrated an economy whose vigor he shamelessly attributed to Obama and, of course, to him. (Aye Yai Yai!) He reiterated that Trump was "the divider-in-chief" (Not race-baiting, Mr. Identity Politics Obama). He celebrated our strong military, seemingly taking credit for that as well. It was disappointingly mendacious and spectacularly shallow. But, the clapping seals and related automatons were out in force and clung enthusiastically to each lie and lofty, albeit insincere, Lincolnesque generality. I kept glancing at the cheering, grinning throng and was spellbound by their obvious unawareness and ignorance. So sad. I loved it when he repeated that "only Americans can destroy Americans", or words to that effect. And ain't that the truth. So much twaddle and baloney. So many blatant lies. And the low-information horde voraciously lapped it up. I stepped off the treadmill sooner than I had planned. Frankly, I couldn't stomach the bilge. If this is the future, I want no part of it--and I will accept no part in it.

Comrade Bernie Hates Private Education

Being able to control education is a keystone of Communist doctrine. And being the ardent Communist he has demonstrably been all his life, Comrade Bernie recently announced his opposition to "unaccountable", un-unionized private charter schools. Saying they "drain funds from public schools", an oft-repeated refrain of the NEA and their unionized pedagogic heel-clickers plaguing our gov't-run indoctrination centers, Bernie is not at all interested in accountability. He is interested in currying electoral favor with the destructive teachers' unions dominating our "education" system, eliminating all competition to a demonstrably failed public education system, and greatly enhancing government authority over every aspect of education. But the clueless seals and automatons continue to routinely applaud such flagrant Leftist insanity.

SHIFTY & THE TOAD: A Profile in Dishonor

In mindless lock-step with his dimwitted pals on the now notorious Hill, I am sure you've noticed how asinine "Shifty" Schiff, poster boy for greasy, slimy lawyers everywhere, has suddenly veered from his useless and laughably specious proclamations that he has "proof" of Trump-Russia collusion. His focus is now on the constitutional "duty" of "congressional oversight" of the Executive Branch, the non-existent "constitutional crisis", holding the AG in "contempt of Congress" and encouraging the House's use of "inherent contempt"--the latter used only once in 1935-- which entails the Sergeant-at-Arms being dispatched by the House to seize and detain the AG and any other subpoenaed Executive Branch witnesses to testify before Congress. And, of course, not to be outdone, toady Nadler, hereafter called the "Toad", is talking about introducing a bill which would end the statute of limitations with respect to presidential legal liability for "crimes" or "misdemeanors" committed before and during his time in office. A few things: 1) I carefully scoured the Constitution this morning, and, as suspected, not one syllable of "congressional oversight" appeared in either Art I or Art II; 2) as already discussed in a previous post, there is no "constitutional crisis" because what the Toad is demanding, that being the AG's violating the law, is nothing more than supercilious hokum, pure theater, intentionally disinformational and incredibly lawless in and of itself; 3) Though I can certainly see the usefulness of Congress' acting upon the doctrine of "inherent contempt" in particularly egregious situations, since Mueller found no collusion (which, by the way, isn't a crime unless there was a quid-pro-quo money exchange, which the report does not support), the House's impetuously and foolishly acting on "inherent contempt" would absolutely precipitate a serious constitutional crisis of the first order. And not even Shifty, the Toad or San Fran Nan are that brain-dead; 4) the floundering Demonrats are simply desperate. Always the lock-step party-first hacks, they have no uplifting, sensible agenda for the country, their increasingly annoying messages remain wed to identity politics, and their all-consuming and most likely suicidal interests remain that of destroying Trump at any cost and of extricating their worthless butts from the bowels of irrelevance, betrayal and shame.

ALABAMA CHALLENGES "SUPREME" COURT ON ABORTION

Couldn't be more heartened by Alabama's passage of the country's strictest anti-abortion law.

If nothing else, Alabama is properly asserting its constitutional authority in this matter. Per the 10th Amendment, regulating abortion, helmet laws and myriad other objects are residual state powers, plain and simple. As you know, the feds were never delegated authority by the States to regulate, prohibit or permit abortion. In short, unless a power is explicitly delegated to the federal government or expressly denied to the States, that power exclusively devolves upon the individual States. Not opinion, just constitutional fact! Simply put, authority over abortion manifestly does NOT fall within the fed's constitutional purview, and all serious students of the Constitution know that. (But, hey. What lawyers and judges today have even read the Constitution or, worse, honor it.)

Since the misnamed civil war, States have accepted a submissive role as vassals in this once proud and dynamic "voluntary union of States". In so doing, they have each routinely caved to federal encroachment upon their powers, submission made all the more tantalizing and tolerable by hefty federal handouts and painful memories of federal aggression against uncooperative States. But, at long last, perhaps the States are on the cusp of recovering their sovereignty and re-asserting their constitutional authority, thus reinstating the foundational doctrine of "dual federal-state sovereignty" without which there can be no federal republic or that wonderful laboratory of experimentation among the States which the framers so wisely envisioned.

Political authority over abortion is the battle today, but there remain countless and serious other federal encroachments on State authority which, in time and only with principled courage and leadership, the States must nullify.

LEFTIST ADOLESCENTS HOPELESSLY NAUGHTY

Wow. Our adolescent "friends" on the left just don't know when to stop and behave like adults. Blue states are already attempting to quash the electoral college by requiring that all electoral votes cast in each state go to whichever candidate wins the national vote, thus ensuring a "blue coast" victory in all future presidential elections. Of course, casting electoral votes in this manner violates the Constitution, thus rendering those electoral votes null and void. Naughty, naughty boys and girls. They know they're being bad, but they just can't help themselves. Now the Demonrat adolescents are encouraging Blue states to disqualify any presidential or VP candidate on the ballot who hasn't divulged his/her tax returns. Of course, that too won't legally fly. In Andrews v Celebreeze (1983) and Williams v Rhodes (1968), the Supreme Court properly opined that it is unconstitutional for states to alter national ballot qualifications. But these misbehaving, wailing kids will continue to annoy, exhaust, frustrate and test the patience of the adults in the country. And so it goes...

WHY CLEAN UP THE MESS? BECAUSE THERE'S NO PLACE ELSE TO RUN.

With what seems to be the inexorable collapse of the deep state's defenses and the incremental public exposure of all the attending Democrat scandals, I just pray that Americans remain both determined and stoic as the unprecedented level of corruption in our government is finally and, I hope, fully exposed. As erstwhile untouchables within this matrix of corruption are brought to justice and imprisoned, and though justifiably sick to our stomachs, we must remain strong. For most of us, it's a simple matter of national survival. If we don't clean up this terrible mess and reduce the formidable size and grasp of our federal government, we may never restore constitutional order again. And if that is the case, just where are we going to run?

Want to solve the problem of over-sensitive snowflakes? Easy. Fire the propagandists who teach them, the revisionist writers who compose their textbooks--and, of course, the Superintendent and School Board. THEN, take over or otherwise direct your childrens' education. It's called good parenting 101. Do nothing and you doom your indoctrinated children to endless failure and, in many cases, probably suicide. And the fate of the country will be sealed as well.

CHALLENGE: SEEING THE DANGER AS IT REALLY IS

Among the decent, the natural inclination is to downplay, make excuses for, or even ignore evil, choosing instead to reserve judgement on the extent and reality of that evil's destructiveness until sufficient proof of that evil is so overwhelming as to be painfully unmistakable. For me, Islamic jihadis, radical white supremacist terrorists, authoritarians and the modern Democrat Party, aka Democratic Socialists, have more than clearly demonstrated their malicious intent. And since subversion of decency and liberty are the telltale signs of that evil, then it behooves us all to see it as it really is.

Yes, many of their leaders and followers have been blinded by their thirst for political power alone, and still others have simply become unhinged, misled and addled by the relentless and highly effective barrage of nihilistic Leftist propaganda over the years. But this must be clear to all who value peace, harmony and individual freedom: the "modern Democrat Party" has morphed into a malignant cancer which, if permitted to further metastasize in a free society which was born of an abiding belief in the value of individual freedom, will spell the end of individual Liberty, Capitalism and all other liberating and empowering natural forces for which humanity has always hungered and only by which it may flourish.

In short, the Democrat Party is no longer the JFk party, and hasn't been the JFK party for quite some time. Thus, awakened to the clear and present danger which the modern Democrat Party has become, and as wisely counseled by our Founders and buoyed by a healthy regard for our own survival as a free people, we are each duty-bound to ensure that the modern Democrat Party is not just resisted, but hobbled and ultimately excised from the body politic.

WILL TRUMP MESS UP HIS RECORD?

I know this will fall on deaf ears and blinded eyes. It may anger both Lefties AND patriots. But, here it is. The President appears to be prepared to violate the Constitution. Though I have been lauding him for his sterling record of faithfulness to date, I fear his likely deal with anti-constitutionalists Nancy and Chuck may jeopardize his law-abiding record.

The inconvenient truth, folks, is that the $1 - $2T infrastructure proposal is both unaffordable and unconscionably unconstitutional. I read and re-read the Constitution, specifically Articles I and II. I also consulted relevant Federalist papers by Monroe and Hamilton to tease forth at least a minimally convincing lawful justification for such a profligate project. Sorry, but an infrastructure bill, no matter how noble in intent, cannot be constitutionally justified. And even if infrastructure spending were justified and within the authority of the federal government, how in hell can a country already awash in gargantuan, unsustainable debt afford it?

So, how do the feds get around this problem? Our founders designed a solution. Congress would need to invoke Art V to amend the Constitution in a manner which would permit such expenditures. In his Farewell Address, Washington warned us that if we want the fed gov’t to have a power the Constitution doesn’t delegate to it, then we should amend the Constitution to delegate that new power – we must NOT allow the feds to exercise a power by usurpation.

Deeply disappointed. These days it requires super-human integrity and faithfulness to fully live up to one's Oath of Office. Tragic.

Recognizing We Have a Problem is the First Step

What Americans are confronting today is the cumulative effect of over a century of Progressive, aka Marxist, subversion. Aping Mao's Great Leap Forward and the Soviet's endless Five Year Plans, from Pres. Wilson's euphemistic New Freedom, FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society, the alien ideological onslaught has been intensive and extremely effective.

In truth, the societal and political transformation we've undergone has been nothing short of traumatic and cause for clamorous alarms. 

It's taken a long time for the Progressives to indoctrinate, misinform, muddle and undermine our values, traditions and institutions, and their subversive attempts have been remarkably successful. Just look around. However, we do have an ace in the hole: most mainstream Americans have now awakened to this diabolical threat to our Liberty and our economic freedom and vitality. Clearly recognizing that there is a well-defined and potentially devastating threat poised against us is the first step to redemption.
